Born in San Rafael (Mendoza, Argentina), Sandra started taking guitar and singing lessons in her home town in 1986. Her musical studies included voice training and corporal expression. Sandra also worked as producer and manager of cultural events.
In Barcelona her singing career has been intense: she first started singing here at Bodega Carlos, a famous cult bar, where for three years she sang tango and Argentinian folklore.
Sandra has sung at the Gracia Fiestas (Barcelona) in 2003, the Barcelona Forum of Cultures in 2004, at the I Jerez de la Frontera International Festival in 2006, and in 2007 at the VI International Tango Festival in Sagunto, the V Costa del Sol International Tango Festival and the IV Almeria International Festival. She represented Barcelona at the VII Tango World Summit that was held in Valparaíso (Chile) in 2007, and she has also given concerts in Istanbul (Turkey) and Bern (Switzerland).
From July and until December 2007 she appeared weekly at Teatreneu, a Barcelona concert venue, with her show “Tango, feroz vocación” (Tango, ferocious vocation) accompanied at different dates by musicians such as Manu Estoa (guitar), Pablo Logiovine (bandoneon), Gustavo Battaglia (guitar) and Marcelo Mercadante (bandoneon).
In October 2007 Sandra appeared at the Barcelona Auditorium with her show Intensotango (Intensetango) together with Manu Estoa (guitar), Pablo Logiovine (bandoneon), Jorge Sarraute (double bass) and Alejandro Di Costanzo (piano).
Sandra’s first album, entitled “En el nombre del tango” (In the name of the tango), was recorded in Argentina. In Barcelona she has brought out “Bajo la piel” (Under the skin) and with Manu Estoa, Pablo Logiovine, Horacio Fumero and Sergio Menem, “El exilio de nosotros” (Exiled from ourselves).
